Letter to the Membership

With the approaching 2021 MOIA Conference, I want to invite everyone to attend and spread the word. The Executive Board has worked hard with a short turn around between conferences and the obstacles of COVID-19 to make this a great conference and I want to thank them for their hard work and dedication.

Our membership and attendance keeps growing every year, but we still have that small feel to it that makes it wonderful to network and learn while you truly feel as if you’re a part of it. Your input is always asked and taken seriously by the Board to make the experience and training even better.

We still have scholarship openings for this year’s conference. Information can be found here on the website.

I look forward to seeing both old and new faces at the 2021 Annual Training Conference at Stone Castle Hotel, Branson, MO on May 24-27, 2021.

If any of us can be of assistance to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the Board members.

Stay healthy and safe everyone!

2020 Conference Update

From President Larry Fish:

I hope this message finds everyone safe and healthy. During this Covid-19 pandemic, we have all adjusted our daily lives and activities. As part of that adjustment and the continued restriction on occupancy numbers, the Executive Committee has voted to reschedule the yearly Conference to Monday, August 31, 2020 through Thursday, September 3, 2020.

The Conference will be held at the same location, Stone Castle(https://bransonstonecastle.com/) Those who have registered and paid for conference, will need only to contact the Hotel about moving your room reservation.

I do know that some may not be able to attend and so does the rest of the Executive Committee. We will work with you to get you or your agency a full refund.

We will do everything possible to keep the membership informed of any class changes (if any) as soon we know them.

Thank you for your patience and understanding though these uncharted waters. Your Executive Committee is dedicated and a very hard working group of individuals with the mindset of giving you the best training possible.

Stay healthy and safe everyone,

Sheriff Larry Fish
MOIA President

Regarding the 2020 MOIA Conference

March 14, 2020

Dear MOIA Membership,

Despite the Corona Virus scare that has caused mass hysteria across our Nation, the 2020 Annual Training Conference will be in session.

Barring a significant event which would endanger the members and their families, we do not anticipate a cancellation.

I would like to encourage everyone who plans to attend the conference to practice recommended safety and health precautions to include hand hygiene and monitoring your health status prior to and during the conference.

If you are ill, I urge you to consider not attending without first consulting a health professional and being cleared.

The health, safety, and welfare of our members and their families is priority #1.

More to follow in the coming weeks.

Larry Fish

President of the MOIA
